SUSTAINABLE SOURCING – ROOTED IN IMPACT
Every sip starts at the source: lush African farms that grow tea the right way—no pesticides, no shortcuts, just healthy, living soil. Our founder personally visits each partner farm to ensure more than just great tea, we demand fair wages, eco-conscious methods, and a deep commitment to empowering women in the field.
But our mission doesn’t stop at the farm. We actively partner with women-led businesses to build economic resilience, and a portion of every bottle sold goes directly toward funding school libraries and training centers in tea-growing communities. .

Sustainable Packaging:
We offer a choice between glass and plastic bottles, both fully recyclable through supported recycling programs. Whether you opt for the elegance of glass or the convenience of plastic, Baridi Brew ensures an eco-friendly path for disposal—through recycling bins at our main retail outlets or by reaching out to us for assistance with the recycling process.

Zero Waste Policy:
We have partnered with Taka Taka Waste Management, which runs over 20 recycling centers in Nairobi, enabling easy bottle recycling at all our major retail locations. We are also setting up clearly identifiable Baridi Brew bins in our smaller locations for convenient bottle disposal.

Composting and Gardening:
All wet leaves consumed within our organization, during the creation of the Brews (iced teas), are composted and used to nourish our in-house garden -helping in soil experiments and sustainable tea-plant cultivation.
Additionally, we are continuously experimenting with soil quality and compost effects on the tea plants, growing some cultivars in the greenhouses to develop environmentally friendly care practices for the sustainability of the tea plant.

Carbon Footprint Reduction:
Delivery in Nairobi is optimized and consolidated to cut emissions and be extremely conscious of our delivery routes. We have also partnered with a distribution channel to ensure, one stop weekly collections.

Community Support:
We support libraries in tea-farming communities, particularly focusing on children’s educational books.
Proceeds from our accessories, such as bookmarks and wooden spoons, help fund these libraries, promoting literacy among the children of tea farm employees.
We are also working on childcare initiatives, both within Muthaiga Tea Company and on the farms we collaborate with, to provide much-needed support to tea farm workers and their families.
